Teachers in Montana can renew their license through the new online TeachMT (TMT) portal.
What state requirements does a teacher in Montana need to meet for license renewal?
All Professional Learning Board courses include a free PD Tracker.
1 semester college credit = 15 professional development units.
Class 1, 2, 3, and 6 License Renewal:
60 professional development units or any combination of OPI professional development units and semester college credits.
Class 4 License Renewal:
Class 4A, 4B, and 4C licenses: 60 professional development units or any combination of OPI professional development units and semester college credits.
The first renewal must show evidence of professional development units earned in the following content areas: Curriculum and instruction in career and technical education; and safety and teacher liability.
Other professional development appropriate to renew a Class 4B or 4C license include: learning styles/teaching styles; including serving students with special needs; safety and teacher liability; classroom management; and teaching methods.
