What state requirements does a teacher in VT need to meet for renewal or reinstatement?

For educators renewing a Level I license, each endorsement is required to have three credits (or 45 hours) of new professional learning. At least one credit (or 15 hours) of new learning must apply directly to the knowledge and performance standards of the endorsement to be renewed. The remaining two credits need to fall within the Core Teaching and Leadership Standards for Vermont Educators.
If there is a time lapse of ten or more years since the educator’s last renewal of a Vermont Educator’s License, an educator must been the following requirements:
6 credits or 90 hours of professional learning in the endorsement area recommended for licensure. 2 credits or 30 hours must align with the content and knowledge standards of the endorsement.
For educators renewing a Level II license, each endorsement is required to have six credits (or 90 hours) of new professional learning. At least two credits (or 30 hours) of new learning must apply directly to the knowledge and performance standards of the endorsement to be renewed. The remaining credits must fall within the Core Teaching and Leadership Standards for Vermont Educators.
Educators who wish to renew a Retired License must have documentation of 3 credits or 45 hours per endorsement of professional learning within the last three years of the licensing cycle (for reinstatements – the three years preceding the reinstatement application). 1 credit or 15 hours shall address the specific knowledge and performance standards of the renewing endorsement(s). The
remaining hours of professional learning must align with the Core Teaching or Leadership Standards.
How do I apply for a Retired Educator License in VT?
Educators who currently hold a valid Level II endorsement may apply for a Retired Educator License if the educator has documentation of at least three 3 credits or 45 hours of professional learning per endorsement completed within the three years preceding the Retired Educator Application. At least 1 credit or 15 hours must address the specific knowledge and performance standards of the endorsement(s). The remaining hours of professional learning must align with the Core Teaching or Leadership Standards.
