Child Abuse Prevention (1 semester credit - Ashland University)

Protecting children is the role and responsibility of every adult. This course helps educators maintain safe and secure learning environments.
Educators need to be aware of red flags indicating a child is being abused. The first section tackles this very sensitive issue and aims to equip teachers with the essentials of recognizing and preventing abuse and trafficking.
In the second section, educators learn how to prevent and respond to bullying.
The third section focuses on trauma-informed strategies teachers can adopt to help students regulate emotions, build resilience, and thrive both within and beyond the classroom.

The video content in this class was excellent. It helped to be able to see how these concepts would be applied in real situations. The only drawback was that the content was a bit shallow and redundant. It would have been helpful to go into some deeper issues with bullying instead of just how to handle surface-level behavior.Jennifer M.

The course was very informative, it was very complete and detailed about negligence and child abuse. It will definitely help me at work and it will be helpful to identify, report and to intervene.Alicia A.
