Children need protection. This short introductory course helps teachers better understand how to keep children safe from abuse, trafficking, and other forms of harm. The course examines why children often trust those who harm them, ways to recognize signs of child maltreatment and how to create safer environments. There is a special focus on trafficking, as this form of abuse is often misunderstood.

This course may not be applicable in all states for use to renew a teaching license. Check with your local licensure authority. Depending on your state, this course is 1 clock hour, CEU, CTLE, CPE, renewal credit, PDP, or contact hour. Professional Learning Board is an approved provider in many states.
