How do I keep and renew a teaching license in Wisconsin?
Teachers use online professional development and continuing education courses as part of their PDPs for teaching in WI. Wisconsin educators have received approval to use semester graduate credits courses as well as PD for substitute teaching licenses.
According to the WI Department of Public Instruction, an educator may be required by their employer to complete a PDP or an EEP for employment purposes. For questions about what professional development is necessary for employment, contact your employer.
For substitute teachers, your school district may have a continuing education requirement as a condition of employment. You must contact your school district to find out about continuing education requirements.
