School Mental Health (10 Hours)

Mental health is an essential component of any classroom.

The first section of this online PD course explores trauma-informed teaching strategies. Educators will learn how trauma impacts learning behaviors, and the strategies they can adopt to help students regulate their emotions, build resilience, and thrive both within and beyond the classroom.

The second section deals with bullying – an unpleasant but inevitable part of life that happens in virtually every social group. Through video role plays, teachers will discover an innovative anti-bullying methodology that empowers students to not become victims.

Online self-study PD courses help teachers complete continuing education requirements.

Using student scenarios for the quiz was a refreshing change of pace and this format was particularly suited to the content.

The video content in this class was excellent. It helped to be able to see how these concepts would be applied in real situations. The only drawback was that the content was a bit shallow and redundant. It would have been helpful to go into some deeper issues with bullying instead of just how to handle surface-level behavior.
